Chippewa Cree
Environmental Department
Mission Statement
The Chippewa Cree Environmental Department is an independent regulatory and protection entity within the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. We strive to identify problems using traditional and contemporary knowledge, skills, and abilities to eradicate hazards for the protection of all life, land, water, and air in the present and future. We are committed to sustainability and strengthening our Ojibwe Ne-i-yah-w way of life.
Vision Statement
The Chippewa Cree Environmental Department is complete with facilities, expertise, funds, and management to effectively fulfill their responsibilities and roles. The Department sets its sights on environmental protection through the independent inspection, compliance, and enforcement of Tribal environmental laws and ordinances. A healthy environment includes land and people with practices in place for an ecosystem that includes clean water and waste reduction. Our sovereignty as Ojibwe Ne-i-yah-w brings forth a sustainable future for our children as they continue to thrive in a clean, safe environment.
